A Search for Meaning or Purpose

At the core of human existense lies a desire to know about one’s being. This desire is somehow intimately related with the underlying question: what is the purpose of our life and, therefore, what is the purpose of what we do?

Of course, there are many other questions related to this simple question. Then, again, for some this question may not be the most important question in our lives – or at least that is what we think. That is to say, if we even think about these matters in the first place.

However, all such questions may be combined in a practical way, ignoring for the moment a more “elegant” philsophical, psychological or theosophical approach to form of a single question:

What is the meaning of my life, my journey or my actions?

This basic question forms the starting point for the second book, Purposeful Action, in the Trilogy of the Brook.

In this portion of “thebrook” web site, we explore this question through six brief sequential web essays as we contemplate a journey through the metaphorical Brook.

Additional essays excerpted from The Trilogy, as well the entire Brookmaster game, can be found in the pages of this web site.

Happy navigating and, again, welcome to The Brook!
